Our pastor had a three-day vacation in Baguio and he told us that before when you reach Baguio you’ll probably think of the people who lives there – the native Igorot, but now you’ll see plenty of Koreans there, a handful of them mainly because many establishments there were occupied by them. If you’re destined to go to Baguio these days you’ll see for yourself how little by little the summer capital of our country were being run by foreigners leaving the Filipinos the blue collar jobs just like what most of us are getting abroad. It’s sad to think that some of us don’t have a choice but to accept the truth that we were always manipulated by strangers in our land.
As always Baguio will always be the place for fresh strawberries, pine trees, peanut brittle, ube and strawberry jams, fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers and sweaters. Actually I’ve never been to Baguio but I know all the good places there and plan to go there when I have time this year. Being so busy with work and home left me with no time to go there but I promised myself that I’ll find time somehow. Pastor mentioned that you’ll have a nice feeling when you looked at the Mines’ View, a kind of overwhelming experience. It all depends on what kind of person are you, we all have different level of satisfaction but for me just being there looking at the beautiful landscapes, sceneries and nature that God has given us should have made us thankful that God loves us.
